Ticket Purchase Terms
Last updated 9 July 2026
These terms apply when you buy tickets through ShowTix for Submission Series events. Please read them before you buy — by placing an order you agree to them. They sit alongside any additional event terms set by Submission Series, which are shown on the event page.
1. Who we are
ShowTix is a ticketing platform operated by FORTY Broadcast Ltd ("ShowTix", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17255266), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. You can reach us at legalteam@40north.live.
2. Our role — we sell tickets as agent for the organiser
Each event is run by an independent organiser (Submission Series). When you buy a ticket, ShowTix acts as the organiser’s disclosed agent: the contract for your ticket and your admission to the event is between you and Submission Series, not with ShowTix.
ShowTixprovides the platform, processes your payment as the merchant on the organiser’s behalf, delivers your tickets, and provides customer support for the transaction. The organiser is responsible for the event itself — including the line-up, timings, venue, admission rules, safety, and its own refund policy.
3. Your order and when a contract is formed
When you place an order we show you a summary before you pay, including the ticket price and any fees. A binding contract is formed once your payment is confirmed and we issue your tickets (you’ll receive an order confirmation by email). If we cannot fulfil an order — for example because tickets sold out in the meantime or a pricing error occurred — we will not charge you, or we will refund you in full.
4. Prices, fees and payment
- Ticket price is set by Submission Series and shown on the event page. Prices include VAT where applicable.
- A per-ticket booking fee may be added and is always shown before you pay. The booking fee is our charge for providing the platform and processing your order, and is non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
- Payment is taken securely at checkout by our payment processor. ShowTix (or its processor) will appear as the merchant on your statement.
- You confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method and that the details you provide are accurate.
5. Your tickets
- Tickets are delivered digitally to your account and by email, each carrying a unique QR code that is scanned once on entry.
- Keep your tickets secure. Anyone presenting a valid QR code may be admitted, so do not share screenshots publicly — if a code is scanned before you arrive, entry may be refused.
- Each ticket admits the stated number of people once only. A duplicated or copied code will be rejected at the door.
6. Ticket limits, resale and transfer
- Per-order limits may apply to give more people a fair chance to buy. Orders that breach a limit, or that we reasonably believe are fraudulent or for unauthorised resale, may be cancelled.
- You may pass a ticket to a genuine guest, but tickets must not be resold for profit or advertised for resale unless the organiser expressly permits it. Tickets resold in breach of these terms may be voided without refund.
7. Admission, age limits and conduct
Admission is subject to the venue’s and Submission Series’s conditions, which may include age restrictions, ID checks, searches, and rules on prohibited items and behaviour. These are set by the organiser and shown on the event page or at the venue. Management may refuse admission or remove anyone who breaches them, or for reasons of safety or licensing — in which case no refund is due.
8. If an event is changed, moved or cancelled
Events can change. Submission Series may alter the line-up, timings or format, or reschedule or cancel an event. Where this happens:
- Cancelled— you are entitled to a refund of the ticket price in line with the organiser’s refund policy and your legal rights (see section 9).
- Rescheduled or moved— your ticket is normally valid for the new date or venue. If it is not, or you cannot attend, any refund is dealt with under the organiser’s refund policy and your legal rights.
- Minor changes — a change to the supporting line-up or running order is not usually a cancellation and does not by itself entitle you to a refund.
We will pass on the organiser’s instructions and any refund the organiser authorises as quickly as we reasonably can.
9. Refunds
- Refunds are governed by Submission Series’s refund policy, which is shown on the event page at the time of purchase, together with your rights under consumer law.
- Because event tickets are for a service on a specific date, the 14-day “change of mind” cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations does not apply. You are not automatically entitled to a refund simply because you can no longer attend.
- Where a refund is due (for example, a cancelled event), it is funded by the organiser and paid back to your original payment method. We aim to process authorised refunds promptly once the organiser confirms them.
- The booking fee is non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
- Nothing in these terms removes your statutory rights, including any right to a refund where an event is cancelled or is not substantially as described.
10. Accessibility
Accessibility provision is arranged by Submission Series and the venue. If you have access requirements, please check the event page or contact the organiser before booking so they can help.
11. Filming and broadcast
Events may be filmed, photographed, streamed or recorded for broadcast, promotional and content purposes. If you attend, you may appear in that footage, and by attending you consent to your image, likeness and voice being captured and used in this way. Submission Series is responsible for obtaining any consents required from those taking part. Questions about footage in which you appear can be sent to legalteam@40north.live.
12. Our responsibility to you
- Because the event contract is with the organiser, Submission Seriesis responsible for the event and for the goods and services provided at it. We are not liable for the organiser’s acts or omissions, or for the event itself.
- We are responsible for providing the ticketing platform with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for loss caused by matters outside our reasonable control, or for indirect or unforeseeable loss, or for loss arising from travel, accommodation or hospitality booked around an event.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law.
13. Complaints and contacting us
For anything about the event itself, please contact Submission Series first. For help with your order, payment or tickets, contact us at legalteam@40north.live. We aim to acknowledge complaints promptly and work with you and the organiser to resolve them.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
15. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
