Privacy Policy

We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator.

ShowTix powers ticketing for independent organisers. When you buy a ticket, you deal with two parties for data purposes:

• FORTY Broadcast Ltd — controls the platform, your account, payments and the ticketing service.
• Submission Series — is a separate data controller for its relationship with you as its customer, using your details to run its event and, where you agree, to keep you updated about its events.

Your data is kept separate for each organiser. We do notsell your personal data, and one organiser’s customer data is never shared with, or sold to, another organiser.

• Identity and contact data — your name, email address and, where needed, phone number
• Order data — the events and tickets you buy, order history, and any answers to questions the organiser asks at checkout
• Payment data — payments are processed by our payment provider; we receive confirmation and limited details (such as the card type and last digits) but not your full card number
• Technical data — IP address, device and browser information, and pages visited, collected through cookies and analytics
• Communications — the content of messages you send us

We collect data when you create an account, buy tickets, contact us, or browse the site.

• Contract — to take and fulfil your order, issue tickets, and provide support.
• Legitimate interests — to operate, secure and improve the platform, and to prevent fraud, where your rights do not override those interests.
• Consent — for marketing communications and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time.
• Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law (for example, accounting records).

At checkout you can choose whether to hear about future events from the organiser you are buying from. This choice is recorded per organiser and applies only to that organiser — it is never used to add you to another organiser’s list. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us.

We share data only as needed to run the service, with:

• The organiser (Submission Series) whose event you buy from, so they can deliver and manage the event
• Our payment processor, to take payment and handle refunds and disputes
• Email, hosting, cloud and analytics providers that operate the platform on our behalf
• Professional advisers, and authorities where we are required to by law

All processors are bound to handle your data securely and only on our instructions. We do not sell your personal data.

Some providers may be based outside the UK. Where we transfer personal data abroad, we ensure an appropriate safeguard is in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved standard contractual clauses.

Events sold through ShowTix may be filmed, streamed or recorded for broadcast and promotional purposes, and attendees may appear in that footage. The organiser is generally responsible for obtaining the consents required from those taking part. If you have a question or request about footage in which you appear, contact us and we will respond in line with your rights and any applicable agreements.

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, including to meet legal, accounting and reporting requirements. When it is no longer needed we securely delete or anonymise it.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected
• Have your data erased in certain circumstances
• Object to or restrict our processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it
